- Archewell Productions scaled down its workforce over the past 12 to 18 months, leaving only a handful of staff at its Los Angeles offices
- The reported reductions mainly hit production crews tied to specific projects, including Meghan's lifestyle show With Love, Meghan
- The staff cuts follow separate restructuring at the couple's charitable organisation and come as Harry and Meghan spend more time in the UK
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Hollywood production company, Archewell Productions, has reportedly shed a significant portion of its workforce over the past year, raising fresh questions about the direction of the Sussexes' entertainment ambitions.
Page Six reported that the company, based at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles, trimmed its team over a 12- to 18-month period.
A source told the publication that the changes primarily affected production crews brought on for specific projects rather than permanent full-time staff, with teams linked to productions including the couple's Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan and Meghan's lifestyle series With Love, Meghan among those impacted.
Despite the downsizing, Archewell Productions has held on to its Hollywood office, with employees still visiting the premises.
Representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not respond to Page Six's requests for comment.
Archewell's Netflix partnership under pressure
Archewell Productions was founded in 2020, shortly after Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as senior working royals.
The company went on to develop several projects for Netflix, most notably the 2022 documentary series Harry & Meghan, which charted the couple's romance, their exit from royal duties and their complicated relationship with the British monarchy.
Meghan's follow-up project, With Love, Meghan, focused on cooking, hosting and lifestyle content, but the show has not been renewed for a third season.
The possibility of future specials has not been entirely ruled out, though no confirmed plans have emerged.
Earlier this year, Variety reported on tensions within Archewell Productions' relationship with Netflix and difficulties in delivering consistently successful programming.
Page Six had also previously flagged delays to two anticipated Netflix film projects connected to the couple, adding to the cloud of uncertainty hanging over their entertainment ventures.
Foundation also went through restructuring
The reported production staff reductions are not the first round of cuts to hit the Archewell umbrella.
In December 2025, three employees at the couple's charitable organisation were let go as part of a broader restructuring exercise aimed at lowering operating costs.
At the time, a spokesperson acknowledged that some staffing changes were unavoidable given the shift in the organisation's operating model.
The charity was subsequently rebranded as Archewell Philanthropies as Harry and Meghan looked to reshape their philanthropic work.
Harry and Meghan return to the UK
The news comes as the couple appear to be pivoting somewhat eastward, spending more time in the United Kingdom after years based in Montecito, California.
On October 15, Harry and Meghan made a joint public appearance in Nottingham, their first official outing together since returning to Britain.
During the visit, Meghan reportedly told a well-wisher that it was "great to be back."
The couple continue to pursue opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic, even as the future shape of Archewell Productions remains a subject of considerable interest.
