During his visit, the minister is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with counterparts from CICA member states, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. He will also meet leaders from host country Azerbaijan and the Secretary-General of CICA.
The summit is expected to bring together heads of state and government, as well as foreign ministers, from the organisation’s 28 member states across South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East.
The visit is expected to provide Sri Lanka with an opportunity to strengthen its engagement with Asian countries and explore new economic partnerships, particularly with the rapidly growing economies of Central Asia.
CICA is a regional intergovernmental forum that promotes cooperation among Asian countries to enhance peace, security and stability across the region.
