Barcelona sporting director Deco has held talks with Dani Olmo’s agent, Juanma Lopez, to discuss the midfielder’s future amid growing speculation over Bayern Munich’s interest in the Spanish international.
According to SPORT, the meeting took place in Barcelona yesterday, with both parties seeking clarity over Olmo’s situation and intentions.
Despite the recent noise surrounding his future, the discussion was conducted in a calm atmosphere, with Barcelona keen to prevent external speculation from creating misunderstandings about the player’s position at the club.
The key takeaway is that Olmo wants to stay at Barcelona, while the club remains confident that he can establish himself as an important part of Hansi Flick’s plans.
Right now, there is no formal offer from Bayern, and a departure is considered highly unlikely.

Bayern’s interest in Olmo is not new, but the German club’s potential attacking changes could increase their need to explore alternatives.
On that note, uncertainty surrounding Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala has added tension to the situation, with Bayern potentially considering reinforcements if either player leaves.
However, interest should not be confused with an active transfer negotiation, as no formal proposal has arrived for Olmo, and there is no indication that Bayern are preparing an immediate move.
As such, it would require a substantial offer for Barcelona to even consider discussing the midfielder’s departure.
More importantly, the player’s own preference works against a transfer, as Olmo is determined to continue his career at the Catalan club.

Olmo’s future is also linked to his desire for greater involvement on the pitch.
As reported before, the Spain international would have liked more minutes at the beginning of the season, but he remains focused on earning a bigger role rather than seeking an exit.
As far as the meeting is concerned, Deco and Lopez discussed Olmo’s participation so far and his prospects for the remainder of the campaign, particularly following the player’s excellent World Cup.
The conversation gave both sides an opportunity to exchange views on his situation and expectations.
Barcelona’s message was one of confidence, and the sporting department believes Olmo possesses the technical quality and footballing intelligence required to become a significant contributor under Flick, even if he has yet to secure the prominence he wants.
