MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. The Kremlin expects the perpetrators and masterminds behind the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage to be identified during the trial, which begins on October 14, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"We expect objectivity. We expect a verdict to be announced. We expect the perpetrators to be named, as well as those who ordered the attack. That would be very important," the spokesman noted. "I think no one has any doubt about who was actually behind it," Peskov emphasized.
The Hamburg Higher Regional Court previously issued a statement announcing that the trial of Ukrainian citizen Sergey K., who is suspected of being involved in the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, will begin on October 14. The court has scheduled 16 hearings so far, beginning on October 14 and continuing through December 17. Hearings are also planned for January and February, but their scheduling is still being finalized.
