The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) has described its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as a pan-Nigerian leader deserving of victory in the 16 January 2027 presidential election.
The Director of Media and Publicity of the ADC-PCC, Kola Ologbondiyan, stated this in Abuja while receiving the leadership of the Grassroots Mobilisation Network (GMN), led by its National Coordinator, Engr. Sadiq Abubakar Adamu Lwafu.
Lwafu said the organisation was embarking on a nationwide mobilisation campaign for Atiku’s presidential ambition, adding that Nigerians were facing economic hardship and insecurity.
He said the ADC was a credible platform with experienced leaders and expressed confidence that the party would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Responding, Ologbondiyan commended the group for its commitment to grassroots mobilisation and said Atiku represented a unifying national figure whose relationships transcended ethnic, religious and regional boundaries.
He said Atiku’s family, business and political relationships reflected Nigeria’s diversity and demonstrated his capacity to promote national unity.
“In the last three years, Tinubu has shown clannishness in governance. His appointments, his policies, his body language — everything screams sectionalism and exclusion,” Ologbondiyan said.
“Atiku Abubakar, on the other hand, is a natural Nigerian devoid of ethnic, religious or sectional inclination. He is a leader for all tribes and regions,” he added.
He said Atiku’s record and policy proposals positioned him to address current national challenges and drive economic recovery.
On fuel subsidy, Ologbondiyan said an Atiku administration would restore the policy under a transparent and properly managed framework to support vulnerable Nigerians and stimulate production.
He said other candidates had not provided clear positions on the subsidy, while Atiku had been consistent.
The ADC-PCC said it remained committed to working with grassroots organisations to restore public confidence in governance and rebuild the country.
