After launching in Gears of War E-Day and X25 anniversary editions, the 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers is now available to buy in two plain colors. These new colors also have a lower price tag than the special editions.
Back in August, 8BitDo announced the Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controller - Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition, and then a few weeks later, it released an X25 special edition in celebration of Xbox's 25th anniversary. 8Bitdo has now announced the charging dock in two new classic colors, that are devoid of any special branding.
Simply called the 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers, the accessory is available in white and black. Like the limited editions, the new colors come with a 1,000mAh semi-solid-state lithium battery with an integrated charging coil. The battery replaces the one that ships with the Xbox Wireless Controller and works with the original battery door.
To use the charging dock, insert the new battery into the Xbox wireless controller, cover it with the battery door, and place it on the charging dock, and the controller should begin to charge. It goes without saying that the charging dock should be connected to a power adapter via a USB-C cable.
The 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers has an LED charging indicator that turns amber during charging and white when the controller is full. Users can also adjust the brightness level of the LED. The charging dock has multiple protection features including over voltage (6.5V), over current (500mA), overheating, and over charge. It also has air vents for passive cooling.
The 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers is compatible with Xbox Wireless Controllers, including classic and special editions. The new White and Black colors are available to buy now on the 8BitDo eShop and on Amazon for $29.99, which is $10 cheaper than the special editions.
