THE Maharlika Investment Corp. (MIC) said the Philippines will be the venue for the first ASEAN Sovereign Wealth Fund Forum on Nov. 10 in Makati City, at which it hopes to pitch long-term investors on renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
In a statement on Thursday, Maharlika said the forum brings together regional policymakers and institutional investors.
The forum aims to connect project proponents with potential investors in support of the region’s energy transition and industrial development.
MIC said the forum will highlight investment-ready projects in solar and wind energy, energy storage, biomass, advanced biofuels, sustainable aviation fuel, smart grids, and critical minerals.
The event will be hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, Board of Investments, and MIC.
One of the forum’s highlights will be a plenary session with MIC delivering the keynote address and a panel discussion moderated by the Milken Institute. — Justine Irish D. Tabile
